Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre
(Durban ICC)

International Awards
Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) has been voted Africa's Leading Conference Centre for six consecutive years by World Travel Awards and in 2004 was also ranked as one of the top ten conference centres in the world by AIPC.

ICC Durban ArenaVenues at the ICC

The International Convention Centre Durban (ICC) is one of the most advanced conference facilities in the world. Flexibility and versatility are key factors in the design of this state-of-the-art technology-driven centre. It is a purpose-built, fully air-conditioned centre with three convention halls that are interlinked but separate. Moveable walls allow for a number of different venue configurations. Alternatively the halls can be opened up to form one large venue with seating for 5,000 delegates or 75,000 sq feet of column free floor space. Together with its sister venue, the Durban Exhibition Centre, the ICC can double its capacity to accommodate 10,000 conference delegates. The centres can function independently or as two halves of one whole. This is achieved by closing Walnut Road, a brick-paved concourse between the two centres, to provide easy access for delegates.

The ICC Durban Arena

The Arena's unique design allows for sporting events in an oval with direct access from all points into the Arena and this is ideal for wrestling, boxing, concerts, ice shows and figure skating events due to the retractable seating which can be brought to edge of ice rink.

The facility can accommodate from 2,500 to approximately 10,000 people depending on the configuration of the room which has operable walls that create flexibility to sub-divide into various combinations. The bleacher seats accommodate up to 749 seats.

Smaller Venues

Smaller venues and meeting rooms, suitable for groups from as few as five to as many as 400, are conveniently situated on the ground and first floor levels. Aside from their suitability for smaller conferences and seminars, these venues are useful for breakaway sessions, presentations, functions and cocktail parties.
